From Seattle To Thailand, To Malaysia, And Back To Thailand, A Photo Journey Part 5

Jok Prince, I have known about this place from my research and reading before arriving Thailand, and I wonder, how is a shop selling one of the most humble dishes in the world, the lowly porridge or congee, can be so well known, I mean like internationally well known. So I must try them, and they are not too far from the hotel, so in just a couple minute of walk, I was there, to find out what this porridge is all about.

Road Trip | Crab And Seafood Festival To Sol Duc Hot Springs | WA| USA

As we enter mid-autumn here in Washington, we want to put on a road trip to see the changing color of the scenery.  As we ponder where to go, my partner in crime noticed the Port Angeles Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival is happening right about this time.  It so happens that we have always wanted to check out the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort, and these two are not that far apart, so it makes sense to put them on one trip.

Not wasting any time, we check for vacancies at the hot spring, lo and behold, they have one!!!  I can’t believe it, because they are usually fully booked!! Although the vacancy is on a Sunday, but we will take it, we will not miss this chance!!

So it is set, the road trip is one night in Port Angeles for the crab festival and one night in the Olympic National Park for the hot spring.  Let’s drive!

West Hylebos Wetlands Park | Federal Way | Washington | United States

It’s a beautiful early fall afternoon, it’s a little cool, but very sunny, which makes it an amazingly nice day, so my best friend and I have decided to go for a hike, to witness the early color changing of the season.  We do not want to go far, so a local park in Federal Way makes sense, so we pick the West Hylebos Wetlands Park, it’s only 10 minutes driving for us after all.

Street Food That Feels Like Restaurant That Feels Like Street Food | Bangkok | Thailand

You can eat what you cook in the hotpot anyway you want, but the way the locals eat it is to wrap the cooked food in lettuce, along with the rice noodle, herbs, and sauces. Take a big bite, chew and mix everything well in your mouth, until all the herbs release their aromas, then swallow. Ah, a super satisfying bite. That's Thai food for you, it's about the combination of flavors. From Seattle To Thailand, To Malaysia, And Back To Thailand, A Photo Journey Part 4

The one thing you do a lot in Thailand is eating, at least to me.  Well, it really is not my fault, I mean, food is everywhere, and good food they are, mind you.  So how can you resist not eating? So it’s the City’s fault really.  Am I blaming the city for my overeating habit and a tummy that is rounder by the day? Absolutely.

Tolmie State Park Olympia Wa | Travel Washington

Tolmie State Park is one of the lesser known state park in Washington State, located south of Seattle and Tacoma, near the more famous Nisqually wildlife reserve. Nothing advances or exotic here, but it’s a little park that holds its own and offer enough features to satisfy most weekenders who look for a lush evergreen forest slash serene classic Pacific Northwest beachfront to stroll, and it’s perfect for families with children and pets to spend a good half, or a whole day on.
